All babies are cared for in our specially designed baby unit. There is a high ratio of staff to babies, allowing us to provide the personal attention babies need at this stage. In the baby unit, the team leader will discuss your baby’s care plan with you. We will follow closely the routine your baby is used to and we will not make any changes without first discussing with you.
Babies - under 1 year
You will receive a daily written report highlighting your baby’s routine. Our staff are always available to discuss your baby’s developing needs and changes to diet and sleeping patterns.
Crawlers - 12 - 18 months
Your baby is now developing rapidly and needs more stimulation and activities. Your baby’s carer and team leader will discuss the move to the crawler room well in advance. At this stage your baby will have the opportunity to experiment with water, paint and get involved in other fun activities.
The program will get a little bit more structured but will allow plenty of rest periods. There will of course be plenty of cuddles and the extra attention your baby still needs.
Toddlers - 18 months - 26 months
Now your child is developing greater independence and the care plan for your child will recognise and facilitate this. Toddlers are encouraged to feed themselves. Your child will begin to form friendships although there will be many falling-outs.
Language development is encouraged and vocabulary is increased through a wide variety of experiences – singing, story telling etc.
Playschool - 2-3 years (split into two groups)
In playschool, your child will be offered an even more structured programme. At this stage, your child’s holistic development is catered for in a wide variety of ways. Physical development is helped through constructive play and puzzles.
Social development is helped through fun activities like circle time. Good behavior is encouraged and promoted through example. Intellectual development is encouraged through the wide variety of activities. It is extremely important that parents and crèche work together in toilet training.
Montessori - ages 3-5 years
The Montessori philosophy is based on respect for each child’s individual personality and ability. The Montessori program allows and encourages each child to develop holistically. This program is geared to not only meet but also facilitate the child’s individual and developing needs.
One of the key aims of this program is to help the child develop his/her independence. Activities outlined in the Montessori leaflet explain in detail Social skills for this age are developed through circle time and group activities.
